Holiday Pet Food Drive
With the first lunch of leftover turkey and stuffing sitting safely in the SGAC work fridge, I suppose it’s safe to assume that the holidays are upon us. That means it’s time for lights, music and, my own personal favorite — television commercials featuring luxury cars with big red bows driving through a lot of benevolent snow! It’s also time for the Second Annual Shady Grove Animal Clinic Pet Food Drive!
Last year the Central Virginia Food Bank indicated that hunger didn’t affect just people in the greater Richmond area. Pets also feel the pangs of an empty stomach. In our inaugural drive ya’ll (“you guys” for those who grew up north of here) answered the call by donating more than 500 lbs of pet food. It was a mind-blowing show of generosity, but one that didn’t suprise us one bit. We know that our SGAC family and friends look out for their fellow man and pet, and so we are once again taking up a collection. During the month of December, drop off any canned or bagged pet food or treat. At the end of the month we will weigh it all and then deliver it to the food bank. Thanks in advance for your donation and for allowing us to help you care for your special, furry family members this year. Happy Holidays to you all.
