Just a Typical Day at the Office
It’s well known that we at Shady Grove Animal Clinic count dogs and cats as the majority of our patients. Sure we see a pocket pet or two, but most our exam room denizens bark or meow. So imagine the excitment when last week Bruno, the DeBell families newest addition, neighed and then tipped our waiting room scale at 242 lbs… Bruno, a two-year-old miniature pony, came to Shady Grove to be neutered. It’s a procedure we are all familiar with, but its a familiarity borne of training and not practical experience. A bit like an auto-mechanic working on a 737. Fortunately Drs. Carlin Kelly and Emily Olson of Virginia Equine made a “clinic call.”
Bruno’s procedure went great; the SGAC staff had a memorable Monday and some of the clients in our waiting room had a story they could tell for the rest of the week!
