Minty Fresh
I’ve been negligent in my blog duties. I was hoping to use this space to share some of the day to day happenings of the clinic. It really is an interesting place. As I write this a rooster is crowing downstairs. I suppose that needs its own entry one day.
In any event, I thought it worth sharing one of the more common occurrences in the clinic. At any annual exam, one of us has probably mentioned your pet’s teeth. Sometimes we’ve noticed disease that needs to be remedied, but often we suggest a prophylactic cleaning. Such was the case with this young canine. No disease noted, but plenty of tartar, calculus and halitosis. All can lead to problems down the road.
About 35-40 minutes later, the teeth have been ultrasonically scaled and polished, and the gum margins have been cleaned and checked for disease. This pup left with all of his teeth, fresh breath and a much healthier mouth! Those are movie star quality teeth! More importantly this dog will now have a healthier future and will feel much better. It’s amazing how a simple clean up can change our pets energy and attitude.
